Bone & Joint (Orthopedic)
Many orthopedic surgeons in Thailand have been educated or trained in Western countries such as the United States, United Kingdom or Canada. The Thai government at times pays for a doctor's education abroad as an investment in the quality of Thai physicians, and the doctor in return will commit to working in the Thai health care system. When choosing a hospital for orthopedic surgery in Thailand, your best choice is one of the private tourist oriented hospitals. While they might be more expensive then other Thai hospitals, the level of service and the quality of the surgeons are usually better, and English is widely spoken. Another advantage of the international hospitals is that they usually carry liability insurance (although you should make sure it is the case).
